Lancaster Stormers News Release

For the second straight evening, the Barnstormers unleashed a vicious attack in the middle innings and rode it to a victory over the Camden Riversharks.

J.C. Holt blasted a three-run homer in the fourth, for a 4-2 lead, while both Matt Watson and Fernando Seguignol added homers by the sixth as Lancaster downed the Riversharks, 9-3, at Campbell's Field.

The win was the fourth in five games on the Barnstormers' current road trip and kept Lancaster (17-8) three games ahead of York in the Freedom Division.

With the Barnstormers down, 2-1, entering the fourth, Terry Tiffee knocked a one-out single to center and was forced at second by Kevin Howard. Alvin Colina lined a single to left to keep the inning alive, and Holt crushed an offering from Jake Dittler (1-5) deep into the twilight to give Lancaster the lead.

Gilberto Mejia followed with the second of his three walks and stole second before Watson conked his second homer of the year off the ad signs to the right of the Campbell's Field scoreboard as Lancaster went up, 6-2.

Noah Hall left the yard to left off Ross Peeples (2-2) to start the fifth, the second Camden homer of the game. Peeples allowed six hits and three runs while walking two and striking out two in six innings of work.

Seguignol added his three-run homer, a shot off the upper deck of signs in left center, off Eddy Camacho with two outs in the sixth following a double by Howard and a walk to Mejia.

Lancaster and Camden will wrap up the series Thursday morning at 11:00. The Barnstormers will send Cesar Carrillo (1-0) to the hill against lefty Carlos Vasquez (0-0). Following the game, Lancaster will head home to open a 13-game homestand with a four-game weekend series against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.
