Barnstormers Schmidt Earns All-AFL Honor

DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers are proud to announce that Wide Receiver Jesse Schmidt has been named to the All-Arena first team for 2011. After four successful seasons playing for the Quad City Steamwheelers (af2), Schmidt (6-3, 220) joined the Barnstormers in 2010. The 2011 season became his breakout year as he smashed every Barnstormers single season receiving record, collecting 168 receptions for 2,171 yards and a league best 55 touchdown receptions. The Buena Vista (IA) alumni is also the Barnstormers current Ironman, having started 34 straight games over 2 seasons. He also has caught a minimum of 2 touchdowns in each of his last 17 games.
Schmidt and his Barnstormers teammates are already preparing for the 2012 season. Season ticket packages are on sale, with no price increases from the 2011 season!
