Bandits Shut Out by Timber Rattlers 3-0

Zach Russell (0-3) struck out seven batters over six innings but allowed three runs in the River Bandits 3-0 loss to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Sunday afternoon.

Both the River Bandits and the Timber Rattlers collected only four hits each. Of Wisconsin's four hits, two were extra-base hits including a triple by Reggie Keen and a home run by Cody Hawn.

Greg Garcia had the River Bandits only extra-base hit for the game. Oscar Taveras went 0-for-4. This is the first game that Taveras has played in that he did not collect a hit. Tyler Thornburg got the win after striking out eight over six shutout innings. He walked two and allowed only three hits. Greg Holle (5) picked up the save by working a perfect ninth.

The series concludes on Monday night. The River Bandits will send Trevor Rosenthal against the Timber Rattlers Matthew Miller. First pitch is set for 6:35.
