Ballew Sold to Marlins; Dahl Re-Signed, Mirowski to I.L.

FARGO, ND - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have sold the contract of RHP Travis Ballew to the Miami Marlins, re-signed RHP Tanner Dahl and placed RHP Richie Mirowski on the Inactive List effective June 9.

Ballew was 1-0 with a 1.64 ERA and four saves in ten games with Fargo-Moorhead this season. He allowed two runs on seven hits in 11.0 innings pitched. Ballew struck out 13 batters and walked four. The Rockwell, Texas native was tied for third in the American Association with four saves.

Ballew was in his first season with the RedHawks after signing as a free agent this spring. He spent the first four seasons of his professional career with the Houston Astros organization and saw time at both the Double-A and Triple-A levels in 2015.

Dahl re-joins the RedHawks after appearing in three games earlier this season. He was 0-0 with a 10.80 ERA. Dahl pitched 5.0 innings and allowed six runs on four hits while walking five and striking out seven batters. The West Fargo, ND native originally joined the RedHawks after completing his college career at the University of Jamestown (ND).

Mirowski goes on the 30-day Inactive List effective June 9 as he rehabs an injury. This season, he is 1-1 with a 1.10 ERA in three starts. He has pitched 16.1 innings and allowed three runs (two earned) on nine hits. Mirowski has recorded 21 strikeouts and walked just four. He is eligible to return to the active roster on July 9.
