Ballers fall to visiting Ripknees
November 13, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Twin City Ballers News Release
Southwestern, MI. The ABA Twin City Ballers were not able to complete the weekend split falling to the Minnesota Ripknees. 133 to 110. "After a hard-fought game against Detroit Friday night, this one really hurts. In this league, you must protect your home court and tonight we didn't," said Ballers coach Jackson. "The Ripknees led at halftime 69-59 and the Ballers were not able to take the lead. Tonight I tried everything. We played a little zone, we trapped and we even pressed but our achilles heel was rebounding."
The Ballers were outrebounded 44-28 by the Ripknees. The Ripknees were led by Rock Watson with 37 points. Johnnie Gilbert added 28 points and 16 rebounds. The Ballers were led by Quinell Brown with 27 and Benton Harbor native Cory Childs ended the game with a double-double 25 points and 10 rebounds.
The Ballers will host the St. Louis Stunners Sun Nov 19 at the Farnum Gym, Benton Harbor. Tip off time is 405pm. Tickets can be purchased on line or at the box office on game day. For more information, visit www.twincityballers.com or www.abalive.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
