Utah Grizzlies News Release

West Valley City, Utah - The Bakersfield Condors defeated the Utah Grizzlies 5-2 at Maverik Center before 7,139 fans on Saturday night.

The Grizzlies finished the game with a short bench following an injury to Chris Donovan in the second period.

Utah took a 1-0 lead which they held for 26:19 as Mitch Wahl fed T.J. Battani for his second goal in two games. Gaelan Patterson picked up an assist as well.

Bakersfield struck 15:16 into the second period and then again 2:40 later to take a 2-1 lead into the third period.

The Condors added a power-play goal early in the third and tacked on two more to take a 5-1 lead. Colin Vock fed Adam Estoclet for his third goal of the year with 28 seconds left in regulation to make it 5-2. Mark Isherwood extended his scoring streak to three games with an assist.

"It's frustrating, we have game plans and each guy has an assignment," said Grizzlies Head Coach Kevin Colley. "You put up 50 shots and guys weren't ready to bare down and score."

Grant Rollheiser replaced Shane Owen after the fourth Bakersfield goal. Utah outshot Bakersfield 50-35 as Condors goaltender Scott Greenham was strong.

Utah hosts Idaho Monday at 1:35 p.m. It's Maverik Monday and you can get six tickets for $30 at the arena box office with a receipt from Maverik. The first 1,000 fans will get a Grizzlies cup with Pepsi coupons to use in the arena and at Maverik.
