Bakersfield Condors News Release

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors (35-29-4-1, 75pts) failed to comeback against the Stockton Thunder (33-27-2-7, 75pts), losing 6-4 in front of 4,491 fans at Rabobank Arena on Tuesday night. The win pulls Stockton even with the Condors for first place in the Pacific Division.

It was a promising start for the Condors, who took a 1-0 lead just 60 seconds into the game on a goal by LW Dan Kissel. C MacGregor Sharp set it up, in his first game back on assignment from the American Hockey League. But the Thunder stole back possession of the game, lighting the lamp three times in the period. RW James Bates, C Chris D'Alvise and RW Kelly Czuy all tallied to make it 3-1 after one.

F Stephane Goulet pulled the Condors within a goal on the power play at 5:11 of the second, but Stockton continued to pummel G Timo Pielmeier with shots. They added to their 18-shot first period total with 23 in the second, and put two more tallies on the board. LW Matt Robinson and LW Jason Pitton scored to maintain the multi-goal lead. The Condors headed into the third period down 5-2.

Bakersfield made a game of it in the third, getting tallies from D Eric Regan at 8:50 and C Adam Naglich at 10:57 to cut it to a 5-4 lead. Czuy ended the Condors comeback, scoring with 3:24 remaining in the game. Pielmeier was pulled with more than 2:00 left, but the Condors negated the extra-attacked by being called for a Too Many Men penalty in the final minute. Stockton out-shot Bakersfield 51-25 in the game.
