Two players join Idaho in Alaska

(Boise, ID) - Defenseman Dustin Molle and forward Brandon Knelsen have been added to the Idaho Steelheads roster and are expected to skate for the team when it plays the Alaska Aces in Anchorage Tuesday night.

Steelheads head coach Derek Laxdal announced Molle, 24, has signed a standard ECHL contract while Knelsen, 22, has signed an amateur tryout agreement. Both played college hockey at Alaska-Fairbanks.

Molle, a native of Anchorage, has two goals and eight assists in 108 games over three seasons at UA-Fairbanks. Knelsen, a right wing, had nine goals and 31 assists in 131 games with Fairbanks.

Idaho (47-16-1-4) plays in Alaska Tuesday and Wednesday night before wrapping up the regular season with games in Bakersfield on Friday and Saturday. The team then has a bye in the first round of the ECHL's National Conference playoffs before resuming play in the second round.

The Steelheads open up the ECHL Kelly Cup Playoffs on April 16 and 17 at Qwest Arena. Want to go to both games? Visit the Qwest Arena box office on April 1.
