January 8, 2008 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (January 8, 2008)-The Texas Brahmas and North Hills Hospital have teamed up for the 2007-08 season to teach local elementary school-aged children how to make positive lifestyle choices in their program "Healthy Goals".

The "Healthy Goals" program is instructed by two players from the Texas Brahmas hockey club of the Central Hockey League (CHL). They encourage children to make healthy choices in an acronym-P.O.W.E.R.

P-prepare by thinking smart

O- only you can make the right choice

W- winners work as a team

E- every day counts

R- respect your body

The students also get the opportunity to 'suit up' for a hockey game as the players help them dress in full hockey gear. This season Brahmas players will visit local elementary schools in Northeast Tarrant County.

The next "Healthy Goals" visit is scheduled for Monday January 14th at Smithfield Elementary at 6724 Smithfield Road in North Richland Hills. For more information regarding this event or future "Healthy Goals" programs, please contact Meagan McClurkan at (817) 336-4423 and (817) 565-4135 or at mmcclurkan@brahmas.com.
