
CHL Performance of the Week Winner Announced

The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that the Rocky Mountain Rage's third period comeback on December 29th versus the Tulsa Oilers has been selected as the recipient of week 11's Performance of the Week. The Rage fell behind 5-0 after two periods of play but battled back with five goals in the third period to tie the game and ultimately winning the contest in a shootout. The comeback was the largest in team history. Colt King scored twice for the Rage and Trevor Weisgerber scored the game winner in the shootout.
The Rage's comeback marked the closest vote this season as they won by just 37 votes. Finishing second was the Austin Ice Bats four-goal third period in a 6-3 win at Wichita on December 28th. The Rage received 317 votes (32%) compared to 280 votes cast for the Ice Bats (28%). Close to 1,000 fans voted in the poll. The Rage will be automatically considered for the 2007-08 CHL Performance of the Year which will be announced in April, 2008.
Rocky Mountain has had a remarkable first half of the season posting a 22-4-3 record for a league-leading .810 winning percentage. The Rage currently leads the Northwest Division by seven points over Colorado and are atop the Northern Conference by four points over the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs.
The nominees for the CHL Performance of the Week for week 12 of the season are as follows:
Travis Clayton (WICH) notching 800th CHL point in 4-1 win versus Texas, 1/4
Kevin St. Pierre (TUL) making 48 saves in 3-2 SO win over YNG, 1/5
David Lemanowicz (RGV) making 53 saves in 3-2 OT loss to Colorado, 1/5
Jon Jankus (CRP) scoring two goals with two assists in 6-1 win over RGV, 1/6
RGV scoring three unanswered goals vs. LAR winning 3-2 ending an 8-game losing skid, 1/4
