Stanley Cup to Appear at CHL All-Star Game in Broomfield

Broomfield, Colo. - Broomfield Sports and Entertainment has announced that the Stanley Cup will make an appearance at the 2008 Central Hockey League All-Star Game and Banquet at the Broomfield Event Center Jan. 15-16. The 2008 CHL All-Star Game will be hosted by the Rocky Mountain Rage and the City and County of Broomfield.

The Stanley Cup awarded annually to the National Hockey League (NHL) champion, is the most coveted ice hockey club championship trophy in the world. The Stanley Cup is also the oldest professional sports trophy in North America.

"The entire CHL will be celebrating the game of hockey in the coming week and it is an honor to have such a symbol of hockey in our building for this All-Star event," said Rick Nichols, Executive Vice President and COO of Broomfield Sports and Entertainment.

CHL All-Star Banquet - Tuesday, January 15th

The banquet, held at the Broomfield Event Center, will honor the CHL All-Star coaches and players and then culminate in a performance by Josh Blue. The Stanley Cup will also be available for viewing and pictures. A cocktail hour with a cash bar will be open from 5:15 p.m. until 6 p.m. with a plated dinner and non-alcoholic beverages to follow. After dinner and the CHL All-Star program, comedian Josh Blue, winner of the 2005 Last Comic Standing on NBC, will entertain the audience. For more information on Josh Blue visit www.JoshBlue.com.

A cash bar will be available during the dinner and performance. Prices are $95 dollars per ticket at a table of ten or $900 for a table of ten. CHL All-Star Game - Wednesday, January 16th

Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. and will feature a Fan-Fest, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for fans to get autographs and photos with the players and coaches. Some of the Central Hockey League team mascots will also be in attendance, along with some local favorites. The Stanley Cup will also be on display and available for viewing and photos. There will also be activities for children.

The puck will drop at 7:05 p.m. for the game, which features the best of the Northern Conference against the Best of the Southern Conference. Fans will also be entertained at intermission by the magic of Quick Change, the entertaining duo featured on NBC's America's Got Talent.

Tickets for the game on Wednesday are on sale now with prices ranging from $18-$43 per seat (parking included). Following the game, all fans are invited to attend the Post-Game Party at the Tap Room at the Omni Interlocken Resort, where players, coaches and CHL dignitaries will gather to recap the game. The jerseys of the Rage players selected to play in the All-Star Game will also be auctioned off at the Omni that night.
