October to April was an exciting time for all in Condorstown, and despite the on-ice season ending, there is much to be accomplished over the summer. The next couple of months hold many promising activities for the Condors as they continue to make visits to kids, support local charities and plan for an awesome 2007-08 season. Thank you for all your support this season and look for your Condors in the community all summer long. This Week in Condorstown:
Thursday, May 3rd: Community Relations Manager Jill Watts will visit her mentee at Wayside Elementary at 1 p.m. for the Reach for Greatness Mentoring Program. Watts and her mentee spend quality time together every week discussing things such as ways to accomplish their goals in life. To learn how you can be a mentor call 831-5337.
Week In Review:
Saturday, April 28th: Condors mascot Baby Cal walked alongside participants in the March of Dimes "WalkAmerica", at Liberty Park. This event featured several hundred participants raising funds by walking to improve the health of babies and help prevent birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
Saturday, April 28th: The Condors attended the 15th Annual Festival of Beers at Stramler Park. The event raised funds for the Active 20/30 Club, to benefit the youth of Kern County.
Sunday, April 29th: Condors mascot Baby Cal attended League of Dreams sporting tournament at Sam Lynn Ball Park to support local disabled kids' dreams of becoming professional athletes. Baby Cal ran alongside batters and handed out high fives in the dugout to encourage kids to try their hardest.
Sunday, April 29th: The heat was on as Condors mascot Baby Cal celebrated Blaze mascot Heater's birthday at the Bakersfield Blaze game. The game featured a Toy Drive to benefit the children at St. Jude Children's Research hospital and a second inning rendition of Happy 3rd Birthday to Heater.
