Las Vegas, NV - The Aviators plated 12 runs over the first four frames en route to a 15-10 victory over Albuquerque Sunday afternoon at Las Vegas Ballpark.
Topes Scope:
- With the loss, the Isotopes dropped the series, 4-2. On the year, the club is 2-4-1 and 2-2-0 on the road. Albuquerque has now lost four-straight sets.
-The Isotopes fell to 3-4 in series finales and 2-2 on the road. The club has lost four-straight series finales.
-Albuquerque is a season-low seven games below .500 (16-23).
-The Isotopes belted four homers for the sixth time this year, tied for the second-most in a game this season.
-Coco Montes went 2-for-4 with two homers, his first two homer game since June 7, 2022, vs. El Paso. It was his first homer since May 3. Additionally, he collected his team-leading 20th multi-hit effort.
-Montes' two clouts count for the fifth two homer games this year by an Isotopes batter and the first since May 9 when Brian Serven belted two blasts.
-Jonathan Morales connected on his fourth homer, a solo shot. It was his first clout since May 5 vs. Sugar Land. The knock also ended a three-game hitless streak.
-Elehuris Montero collected his eighth multi-hit effort, second-straight and fourth three hit game.
-Yonathan Daza recorded his second multi-hit effort in give games with the Isotopes this year. He has a hit in four of those five contests. Additionally, he tallied his first extra-base hit, a double.
-Starting pitcher Phillips Valdez took his second loss of the year after allowing nine runs on five hits, three walks and three homers over 2.1 innings. The nine runs allowed tied a career high (third time) while establishing a new career high for earned runs. Valdez also surrendered a career-high three homers, beating his previous high of three set 11 times.
-The nine runs allowed by Valdez are tied for the third-most surrendered by an Isotopes starter this year.
-The Isotopes allowed three-plus runs four times on the afternoon. For the year, they've surrendered at least three tallies in an inning 47 times this season.
-Albuquerque scored double-digits runs for the 10th time this season. Additionally, they've relented double-digit runs 12 times in 2023.
-The 15 runs allowed tied (three times) for the fourth-most relented this year.
Albuquerque surrendered four homers on the afternoon, tied for the third-most allowed this year (three times).
-The Isotopes pitching staff issued eight walks, tied for the fourth-most allowed in 2023.
On Deck: After an off-day, the Isotopes return home to begin a six-game set against Tacoma starting Tuesday at 6:35 pm at RGCU Field at Isotopes Park. Neither team has announced starters.
