
Aviators' Rally Falls Short; Lose 8-6

LOVES PARK, IL- The Rockford Aviators (30-41) presented by Pearson, saw their rally fall short as they lost to the Lake Erie Crushers (39-32), 7-3.
Jason Wilson was dominant in his start tonight for the Crushers. In his six innings of work he allowed just four hits and no runs while striking out six Aviators.
Kyle Brueggemann was not as successful. He pitched 5.1 innings, allowing eleven hits and six runs as he was credited with his fourth straight loss.
The Crushers offense was brilliant tonight as every single Crusher reached base and they totaled fifteen hits.
Trevor Stevens hit his third homerun of the season in the fourth inning. His 2-run bomb gave the Crushers a 4-0 lead.
The Aviators offense came alive in the bottom of the eighth inning when Kenny Bryant hit a sacrifice fly to put the Aviators on the board.
Ryan Breen hit a RBI single that pushed two more runs across, and cut the Crushers lead in half, 6-3.
In the ninth the Crushers added a few insurance runs as it would prove to be needed as they extended the lead to 8-3.
Dusty Robinson hit a three run bomb in the bottom of the ninth to bring the deficit to two. The Aviators rally would fall short though as Kenny Bryant popped out to the catcher to end the game.
The Aviators will conclude their series against the Crushers tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. Aviators fans will want to come to the ballpark as it will be Mincemoyer Jewelry Diamond Dash, Sam's Club FREE Gas Friday, and Power Connection FIREWORKS.
