FLORENCE, KENTUCKY - The Aviators dropped the rubber match to the Freedom 5-3 Thursday night. The Freedom put up 2 in the bottom of the 6th to win the game and capture the series.

Kyle Brueggemann started for the Aviators and held the Freedom scoreless through 3. The Aviators initially built a 2-0 lead on RBI by Devon Rodriguez and Raul Linares in the first and second, but the lead would not hold as the Freedom scored 3 times off Brueggemann in the 4th to get out to a 1-run lead.

The Aviators would tie it back up in the 6th on an RBI single by Danny Stienstra, but the Freedom used a 2-RBI single by Travis Weaver in the bottom half to get to their final total of 5.

The Aviators return home to start a 3-game set with the CornBelters tomorrow. First pitch at 7:05. The Aviators will wear tropical-themed jerseys that will be available for auction during the game. Call 815-885-2255 or visit rockfordaviators.com to reserve your seat.
