LOVES PARK- The Aviators fell to the Miners 11-5 Saturday at Aviators Stadium. The Miners used a 4-run 3rd and a 6-run 5th to earn their second win of the series.
Kyle Brueggemann took the hill for the Aviators, and surrendered 1 in the 1st, 4 in the 3rd, and 3 in the 5th before being replaced by Paul Lujan, who surrendered 3 more.
Eric Cendejas, Colby Holmes, Matt Frahm, and Patrick Dolan would throw a scoreless final 4 frames.
The Aviators managed to score in the 4th, 5th, and 6th, but had to try to catch up from down as many as 10 runs. Elijah Trail had a single, a double, and an RBI in the contest. Danny Stienstra picked up an RBI, scored himself and reached base 3 times. Raul Linares also had an RBI in the game.
Devon Rodriguez picked up a base hit to extend his personal hit streak to 10 games.
The two squads meet again tomorrow at 3:05 at Aviators Stadium. Payton Baskette is expected to start for the Aviators.
Fans can play catch on the field before the game from 2-2:30, and kids can run the bases when the action concludes.
