Washington Falls Short in Pitchers' Duel

Washington, Pa - The Wild Things fell short to the Grizzlies in a pitchers' duel at CONSOL Energy Park Sunday afternoon. The score was 5-0.

Washington pitcher Matt Fraudin and Grizzlies pitcher Dillon Haviland created an interesting local face-off. Both pitchers are natives of the Pittsburgh area...Haviland a McDonald resident, and Fraudin calls Upper St. Clair home. The two were well matched, each lasting six innings, but Haviland earned the win for his team, allowing no runs on five hits, and striking out one. Fraudin, who took the loss, allowed three runs on six hits, striking out three.

The Grizzlies were able to garner five runs, including three solo homeruns- two coming off the bat of catcher Tyler Tewell.
