Austin FC Clinches First Audi MLS Cup Playoffs Berth in Club History

A victory against Real Salt Lake on Wednesday night at Q2 Stadium saw Austin FC clinch the first Audi MLS Cup Playoffs berth in Club history, with three matches remaining in the 2022 regular season.
About the Audi 2022 MLS Cup Playoffs
With seeding and hosting rights still to be determined by results over the remainder of the season, the Audi 2022 MLS Cup Playoffs are set to begin on October 15 and conclude with the MLS Cup Final on November 5.
Austin FC, currently in second place in the Western Conference, will host at least one playoff match at Q2 Stadium if they finish in fourth place or higher at the end of the regular season.

The Season So Far
Austin FC has achieved the second-best season-to-season improvement for an expansion team in League history, already recording 23 more points than it had at the end of last season (31). The team ranks second MLS in goals scored with 63, and has eight (8) away wins (third-most in MLS).
Designated Player Sebastián Driussi is a candidate for the Landon Donovan MLS MVP Award, ranking second in the league with 20 goals scored. He contributed to a goal in a league-best 11 consecutive games in July and August, scoring in seven consecutive games during that spell. This season, he was named an MLS All-Star, twice named MLS Player of the Month, and has 11 MLS Team of the Week selections.
The Homestretch
Austin FC has three matches remaining in the regular season as it looks to secure home-field advantage for the playoffs. The Verde & Black have another home matches in three (3) days at Q2 Stadium, hosting Nashville SC on September 17. After a two-week break, the team will finish the 2022 regular season with matches on the road against Vancouver Whitecaps FC (October 1) and at home against Colorado Rapids (October 9).
