New England Revolution News Release
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The U-17, U-15, and U-14 Revolution Academy teams began their MLS NEXT Fall season on Sunday, September 11 as they welcomed New York City FC Academy to Foxborough.
The U-17s defeated NYCFC, 2-1, as Raphael Alves (2007 - Framingham, Mass.) tied the game up in the 52nd minute with Eric Martinez (2006 - Perris, Calif.) notching the game-winner in the 90th minute to secure three points for his team in their first match of the season. The U-15s fell in their match, 3-0, and Judah Siqueira notched New England's lone goal in the U-14s 2-1 loss.
All four Academy teams are in action this weekend as the U-15s and U-17s head north of the border to face CF Montreal while the U-19s and U-14s take on Bayside FC. Revolution MLS & MLS NEXT Highlights
U-17 forward Raphael Alves (2007 - Framingham, Mass.) coming off a 15-goal season with the U-15s last year, notched his first goal of the season on Sunday.
U-17 forward Eric Martinez (2006 - Perris, Calif.) notched the game-winner in the 90th minute to open his 2022-23 scoring campaign.
U-14 forward Judah Siqueira (2009 - South Easton, Mass.) scored his first goal with Revs Academy in the 11th minute of the match.
U-19 goalkeeper Max Weinstein (2004 - Montpelier, VT.) secured his third clean sheet in his seventh appearance with Revolution II in a 0-0 draw vs. NYCFC II.
Academy graduate Jack Panayotou (2004 - Cambridge, Mass.) was named Freshman of the Week at Georgetown University last week and has recorded two goals and two assists in his four games played so far this season.
