(WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK, Lexington, Ky.) Ryder Jones' homer in the seventh inning broke a 4-4 tie, and the Augusta GreenJackets went on to a 6-4 win over the Lexington Legends Thursday night.

Jeremy Sy's solo homer in the first inning put the GreenJackets in front, and they added three more runs in the second. Brandon Bednar led off with a single, Ty Ross walked and Rafael Rodriguez was hit by a pitch, loading the bases. John Polonius grounded into a force play at the plate, but Rando Moreno doubled down the left field line, scoring Ross and Rodriguez, and sending Polonius to third. Polonius scored on a ground out by Chris Lofton, and Augusta led 4-0.

The Legends began their comeback with a run in the third. With one out, Samir Duenez reached on an error, advanced to second on a base hit by Ramon Torres, and scored on Frank Schwindel's double. In the fourth, Fred Ford tripled and scored on a bunt single by Carlos Garcia, cutting the lead to two at 4-2.

The Legends tied the game in the fifth. Dominique Taylor led off with a single and moved to second on a bunt single by Torres. A wild pitch put the runners at second and third. They held there as Schwindel grounded out, but Chad Johnson's sacrifice fly scored Taylor and moved Torres to third, from where he scored the tying run on a wild pitch.

Jones' homer in the seventh put the GreenJackets in front for good, and they added their final run in the eighth on a walk to Tyler Horan, a sacrifice by Bednar and a two-out single by Cristian Paulino.

Augusta reliever Daniel Slania (1-1), who entered the game in the sixth inning, got the win. Kevin Perez (0-1), who relieved Legends starter Jake Junis in the sixth, took the loss.

The two teams meet again Friday night. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
