LOWELL, Mass. - Waltham-native Keith Aucoin recorded a hat trick for the Hershey Bears as they defeated the Lowell Devils, 5-2, on Wednesday night at the Tsongas Arena. Andrew Gordon and Alexander Giroux each added three assists for the Bears.

After a scoreless first period, Nick Palmieri drew first blood for Lowell at 4:43 when he muscled a loose puck in the crease past Michal Neuvirth for his second of the season.

Aucoin and the Bears struck twice in a span of 1:39 later in the period to take a lead they would never relinquish. Aucoin's centering pass that deflected off a d-man and through the five-hole of Jeff Frazee at 14:11 made the score 1-1 before Oskar Osala tipped in a feed from the side wall from Kyle Wilson.

Hershey started to pull away in the third period as Aucoin converted on a turnover in the Devils' zone for his second of the night just 34 seconds into the frame.

Dean McAmmond pulled Lowell back within one at 4:06 with his first of the season, but Patrick McNeil put Hershey up, 4-2, with eight minutes left also notching his first of the year. Aucoin completed the scoring and his hat trick when he converted a 2-0 break with 3:37 remaining in the contest.

Frazee took the loss, stopping 25-of-30 shots. The Devils finished 6-for-6 on the penalty kill.
