Auburn Doubledays vs. Staten Island Yankees Game Notes

July 13, 2015 - New York-Penn League (NYPL)
Auburn Doubledays News Release

Tonight's Game: It's the series and season finale between Staten Island and Auburn. Due to the scheduling rules and restrictions within the New York- Penn League, it's likely this will be the final game the Yankees will play at Falcon Park during the regular season until 2017. The Doubledays hosted the Baby Bombers back in 2013 and visited them in 2014.

Last Night's Game: Both teams hit two home runs, but Staten Island didn't only rely on the long ball in its 7-3 victory over Auburn. All three of the Doubledays runs came across on homers by Rhett Wiseman and Edwin Lora. Only three of the Yankees' seven runs came across on homers by Thairo Estrada and Eduardo de Oleo

The Hit-Man: Andrew Stevenson extended his hit streak to a team-high nine last night with a 1-3 performance against the Muckdogs. The outfielder has hit .447 (17-38) over his last nine games. Stevenson has started in 14 games for Auburn this season and has recorded a hit in 12.

Day Off: Tomorrow is the second of five scheduled days off during the 2015 NYPL season. Auburn's next day off will be July 27th after a six-game road trip to Vermont and Lowell. The Doubledays return on Wednesday on the road against the Mahoning Valley Scrappers.

New Kids on the Block: The Doubledays added 2015 MLB Draft 21st Round Pick Matt Pirro to the roster. There are no 18 2015 Draft picks on Auburn's roster.
