
Scrappers Battle past Lowell

Mahoning Valley Scrappers News Release
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers (8-15) took the three-game series against the Lowell Spinners (14-10) with an 8-3 win in front of 2,229 in Lowell.
The pitching struggled again, giving up a season high 13 walks.
Every batter in the lineup for the Scrappers recorded a hit, with the highlight being Sam Haggerty having a triple and double in his first two at-bats. Connor Marabell was 3-for-5, and Emmanuel Tapia had two hits, which were both doubles.
Despite the walks, the Scrappers were able to only give up six hits.
Johan Puello (1-1) earned the win. He went two and two-thirds innings giving up two hits and no runs. Leandro Linares did not earn a decision. He went three and one-third giving up one hit, two runs, and walked eight, which was a new season high. Jake Cosart went two and two-thirds giving up seven hits and five runs. He earned the loss, and now has a 1-2 record.
The Scrappers head back to Niles splitting their road trip, 3-3. Tuesday is an off day, and they'll be back on the field on Wednesday against the Auburn Doubledays at 7:05 at Eastwood Field.
