Auburn Doubledays News Release

Tonight's Game: Tonight marks the first professional start for Mariano Rivera III. He'll look to notch his first victory against State College after the Spikes beat the Doubledays 7-1 last night. Auburn is 1-0 in rubber match games this season with the o   one win coming against State College back on June 24th by the score of 8-3 on the road.

Last Night's Game: The Doubledays went down 2-0 in the first, and never came back. After Auburn scored a run in the   bottom of the first to put the score at 2-1, it never scored again. The Doubledays 3-8 hitters went a combined 0-20. Andrew   Stevenson lead off and notched three hits, Max Schrock the two-hitter recorded one, and Jorge Tillero the nine-hitter hit the fifth and final hit of the game for Auburn in the eighth.

Leading off, Andrew Stevenson: Washington's second round pick has started in center and leadoff in all nine games he's   played in. On top of that, Stevenson has gotten on base to leadoff the game for Auburn five times in those nine games. The outfielder has only gone hitless in two of his nine games this season and is on a four-game hit streak. Over those four he is   8-16 with a triple and 3-3 on stolen base attempts.

Day Off: Tomorrow, July 7th, marks the first day off for the New York-Penn League since the beginning of the season, and it  comes at a much-needed time. The Doubledays are 2-8 in their last 10 games and have been outscored 64-31 over that span.
