
Attack Shot Down 6-1 by the Spits

Owen Sound Attack News Release
The Owen Sound Attack were looking for their fifth straight win at the Harry Lumley Bayshore today, their first Sunday home game of the season. The Windsor Spitfires came to town for a 2:00pm puck drop, the team's first match up against Owen Sound. The Bears couldn't maintain control this afternoon and the Spits took down Owen Sound 6-1.
First period starts out fast paced but not with much action until Windsor's Jordan Frasca finds the back of the net at 12:11 to open scoring. Frasca's put the puck past rookie netminder Andrew MacLean for his 3rd goal of the season, assisted by Cole Purboo.
The Spits headed to the penalty kill at 12:24 into the first as Lev Starikov got called for high sticking and the Bears headed to their first powerplay of the afternoon.
The Bears didn't waste any time to tie it up as Markus Phillips scores his first goal of the season at 14:07, assisted by Mitchell Russell and Andrew MacLean.
Windsor responded quickly as Chris Playfair scored, assisted by Thomas Stevenson and Daniel D'Amico at 15:51.
Mark McDade Chestnut Park shots on goal sat at 12 for the Attack and 10 for Windsor in the first period.
Second period came much like the first, with an aggression from both sides but no follow through. Trent Bourque shot the puck and banged it off the post early in the second.
Aidan Dudas headed to the box at 6:27 for hooking, sending the Bears to their first penalty kill of the game. The Bears killed the penalty to keep the score 2-1 Windsor.
At 10:11, the Spits find the back of the net again to bring their lead to 3-1 as Matthew McDougall scores, assisted by Chris Playfair.
With just over two minutes left in the second period, Windsor secures another goal as Curtis Douglas sends the puck past MacLean for his third goal of the season. The play was assisted by Louka Henault and Jean-Luc Foudy.
Mark McDade Chestnut Park shots on goal sat at 7 for the Attack and 11 for Windsor in the second period.
Attack came out with some momentum in the third period, being down 4-1 but couldn't find the back of the net.
Carter Robertson got caught holding at 10:07 sending the Spits to another powerplay. Windsor take advantage of the man-advantage and Curtis Douglas scores his second of the game at 12:02. The play was assisted by Will Cuylie and Jean-Luc Foudy, bringing the Spits lead to 5-1.
Jordan Frasca found the back of the net again before the buzzer sounded, and the Attack feel 6-1 to the Spits this afternoon.
Windsor Spitfires Curtis Douglas earned first star honours for his two goals of the night. Second star honours went to Jean-Luc Foudy, with two assists and Spits Chris Playfair earned the third star, with one goal and one assist in the game. Netminder Michael Dipietro stopped the puck 33 times, and Attack's Andrew MacLean stopped 28 shots in the game.
Daylon Groulx earned the Hatten Home Hardware Hardest Working Player of the Game, voted by the fans.
At the end of three, Mark McDade Chestnut Park shots on goal were 34-34.
