Atlanta Dream News Release

ATLANTA, December 17, 2009- The Atlanta Dream announced today the team's schedule for the 2010 season, featuring 17 home games at Philips Arena. The Dream enters its third season this summer as the WNBA tips off its 14th season in May.

For the second consecutive year, the Dream will host the Indiana Fever, last year's Eastern Conference Champions, in the home opener on May 16. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Philips Arena.

The Dream's 2010 schedule is highlighted by 17 home games, including ten weekend matchups at Philips Arena. The schedule also features two nationally televised games on ESPN2, at the Seattle Storm on June 1 and at home against the Washington Mystics on August 3. Other notable matchups include a visit from Candace Parker and the Los Angeles Sparks on June 27, followed by a matchup against the defending champion Phoenix Mercury on June 29.

Under the guidance of 2009 WNBA Coach of the Year Marynell Meadors, the Dream returns a solid core from a team that advanced to the playoffs last year in the franchise's second year. The Dream roster is highlighted by six-time WNBA All-Star Chamique Holdsclaw, 2009 Rookie of the Year Angel McCoughtry and 2009 All-Stars Erika de Souza and Sancho Lyttle.

The 2010 WNBA season marks the second year of the league's eight-year deal that allows ABC, ESPN and ESPN2 to televise games through 2016. The agreement provides the WNBA a rights fee, a first in U.S. women's professional sports league history. The deal extends the WNBA's relationship with ESPN, which commenced in 1997, to 20 years. The WNBA wrapped up the 2009 season with an 8 percent increase in viewership. The five-game WNBA Finals viewership increased 73 percent and the 13 postseason games on ESPN2 increased by 54 percent in 2009.

The Dream tips off its third season this summer at Philips Arena. Season tickets and ticket plans are now available for purchase by calling 404.604.2626 or visiting www.AtlantaDream.net. Fans can also purchase the Dream's holiday package, available for a limited time only. Individual game tickets will be available for purchase in the spring.
