Hudson Valley Renegades News Release

WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY - The Hudson Valley Renegades pitching dominated again, striking out 15 and one-hitting the Brooklyn Cyclones in a 2-0 win on Saturday night at Dutchess Stadium.

Edgar Barclay fired four innings of one-hit, shutout ball, striking out six and walking just one. Tanner Myatt earned his first win, following with three perfect innings of relief, fanning four. Carson Coleman picked up his second save, striking out the side in the eighth and adding two more punchouts in the ninth.

Between tonight and his work in Tuesday's home opener, Barclay has struck out 13, walked just one and allowed only four hits in seven shutout innings against Brooklyn in this series. His ERA on the season is 1.42 in 12.2 innings across five appearances.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Renegades loaded the bases with no outs against Brooklyn starter Carlos Ocampo. Carlos Narvaez grounded into a 6-4-3 double play to plate the game's first run before Ocampo exited with an apparent injury. Aldenis Sanchez lined a two-out RBI single off Hunter Parsons to make it 2-0 Renegades.

Ocampo (0-2) lasted 3.2 innings in a loss, allowing two hits, two runs (zero earned), walking two and striking out three. After he exited, Parsons, Evy Ruibal and Colby Morris combined for four innings of two-hit, shutout relief, striking out five and walking none.

The two teams combined to strike out 23 times, and neither team recorded an extra-base hit in a tidy two-hour, 17-minute game.

The Renegades no-hit the Cyclones over the final eight innings, tallying all 15 of their strikeouts and surrendering only three walks - to JT Schwartz in the third, Jaylen Palmer in the eighth, and Rowdey Jordan in the ninth. Jordan was picked off by the catcher Narvaez shortly thereafter, and was responsible for Brooklyn's lone hit leading off the game.

POSTGAME NOTES: Despite reaching on an error by Palmer in the fourth inning, Cooper Bowman's on-base streak spanning back to last season was snapped at 12... The one-hitter was Hudson Valley's first since 8/3/21, also against Brooklyn in a 5-0 victory... The Renegades threw three one-hitters and one no-hitter in 2021.

Hudson Valley Renegades Record:
