
Arkansas Salvages Finale over Naturals

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Arkansas used a six run second inning to set the tempo of the finale en route to a 7-0 win over Northwest Arkansas in the finale regular season home game for the Travelers at Dickey-Stephens Park on Monday night. The Naturals claimed the series by winning the first two games of the set by scores of 3-1 and 4-3 in extra-innings on Sunday night.
Arkansas capitalized on five walks in the second inning, one error and one wild pitch while using three hits of their own to take a 6-0 lead. Right-hander, Jon Perrin (0-2, 4.60 ERA) worked just one and two-third innings, allowing six runs - three earned - on three hits while walking three and striking out two.
Left-hander, Anthony Misiewicz (3-11, 5.03 ERA) carved up the Naturals working six innings of shutout baseball for his third straight quality start while fanning seven batters.
Jecksson Flores led the offense with a pair of hits including his 29th double of the season and maintains the top spot in the batting average category with a .315 clip. Erick Mejia and Alex Liddi also doubled in the contest.
The road trip continues with a five-game series over the next four days against the Tulsa Drillers at ONEOK Field starting on Tuesday, Aug. 28 with a 7:05 pitch from downtown Tulsa. The Naturals currently trail the front-running Drillers three and one-half games in the standings.
Right-hander, Scott Blewett (8-6, 4.92 ERA) takes the mound against right-hander, Yadier Alvarez (1-2, 4.97 ERA) for the Drillers. Blewett in his last six appearances has posted a 4-0 record with a 2.57 ERA with a 1.09 WHIP entering his 24th start on Tuesday night.
