Moose Jaw Warriors News Release
The MNP Warriors Alumni Golf Tournament was another smashing success last week.
The Warriors hosted 144 golfers last Friday at the Hillcrest Golf Club for the 12th edition of the tournament, raising money for the Warriors Eduction Fund, which covers the cost for graduating players to attend post-secondary school.
Warriors manager of sales and marketing Olivia Howe said the tournament's sponsors came through once again.
"The Moose Jaw Warriors organization would like to send out a huge thank you to the sponsors who continue to support the education fund through the MNP Alumni Golf Tournament. The commitment that these sponsors show year after year is not only phenomenal, but also deeply appreciated," she said.
MNP returned as the presenting sponsor of the tournament, while JGL, Main St. Dental, Henderson Insurance, KMS Construction, Rockport Carrier and Spurr Commodities supported the tournament as major sponsors.
Knight Automotive provided sponsorship of the $1-million Hole-In-One Shootout this year as well.
The tournament saw alumni like Theo Fleury, Dustin Boyd, Scott Thomas, Scott Reid, Tanner Eberle, Adam Evanoff, Ryder Korczak and more return to tee it up.
Current members of the Warriors, Atley Calvert, Brayden Yager, Harper Lolacher, Sam Borschowa and head coach Mark O'Leary, also took part in the tournament.
In addition to members of the Warriors, hundreds of community leaders took part in the tournament once again.
Howe said the community support shown each year is incredible.
"As a community-owned team, we rely heavily on our sponsors," she said. "Moose Jaw and the surrounding community always come through to help make this event a huge success."
This year's tournament is expected to have raised over $100,000, which will add to the more than $1-million raised over the previous 11 years.
