Seven Winterhawks Prospects Attending USA Hockey Player Development Camps

The Portland Winterhawks Hockey Club is excited to share that prospects Landon Amrhein, Colin Frank, Adam Kleber, Gavin Kor, Garin Ludwig, Morgan Stickney, and Griffin Sturm are all participating at USA Hockey Development Camps this summer.

Frank, Kleber, and Ludwig all participated at the Boys 17 National Festival from June 22-28 in Amherst, N.Y. Frank led all skaters with 11 points in six games.

Players from the USA Hockey Boys 17 Festival will be evaluated and chosen to attend the Hlinka Gretzky Cup Camp which will take place July 20-24, 2023 at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan. Those chosen from the Hlinka Camp will play for the 2023 U.S. Under-18 Select Team during international competition, the 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup August 1-6, 2023 in Břeclav, Czechia and Trenčín, Slovakia.

Kor, the Winterhawks' first-round selection in the 2023 WHL U.S. Priority Draft, is currently attending USA Hockey Boys 16 Player Development Camp and has produced three assists in five games. Players from the Boys 16 Player Development Camp will be selected to assemble USA Hockey's Five Nations Tournament roster that takes place this August in Czechia.

Amrhein and Sturm will participate at USA Hockey Boys 15 Player Development Camp from July 15 - 20 in Amherst, N.Y. The two will compete against other top 2008-born Americans at the five-day summer camp. Stickney is one of 25 goaltenders competing at USA Hockey Girls 15 Player Development Camp in Oxford, Ohio from July 7-15.
