
Anaheim Recalls Center Rickard Rakell from Norfolk

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks announced Monday that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled center Rickard Rakell from the Norfolk Admirals, Anaheim's primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Rakell, 20, heads to Anaheim after posting five points (4g, 1a) in nine games for the Admirals this season. Rakell's four goals ties him for the Norfolk team lead in goals, and is second on the team in power play goals (3) at the time of his recall. The 6-1, 192-pound center appeared in five preseason games for the Ducks last month logging an assist. Last season, Rakell went scoreless in four regular season appearances with the Ducks.
The Sundbyberg, Sweden native is a 2011 first-round draft selection (30th overall) of Anaheim. He totaled a balanced 149 points (68a, 81a) in three seasons with the Plymouth Whalers (OHL) from 2010-13
