Anaheim Ducks Reassign Blacker, Rakell

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned defenseman Jesse Blacker and center Rickard Rakell to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals.

Blacker, 23, was called up to the Ducks on November 28 and appeared in his first NHL game the same day against the Chicago Blackhawks. During the contest, he took the ice for nine shifts and totaled 6:03 of ice time. In 14 games so far with the Admirals, he has recorded four points, and ranks second among team defensemen in points-per-game (.29), tied-second in assists and fourth in shots on goal (21). In 194 career AHL games with the Admirals and Toronto Marlies, the 6-foot-1, 190-pounder has amassed 57 points on 11 goals and 46 assists.

Rakell, 21, has not played yet with the Admirals this season, but has skated in 17 games for the Ducks. He contributed three assists and averaged 13 shifts and 10:20 of ice time per game, and had a career-high five shots on net against the Los Angeles Kings on November 12. Last year, the Sundbyberg, Sweden native registered four points in 18 games for the Ducks and 37 points in 46 games for the Admirals, as well as three points during the 2014 playoffs.
