Winnipeg Jets Jets Recall Ben Chiarot from St. John's

The Winnipeg Jets announced they have recalled defenceman Ben Chiarot from the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League. The Winnipeg Jets also announced they have placed defenceman Toby Enstrom on IR retroactive to Nov. 23/14.

Chiarot, 23, has played in 24 games this season with the St. John's IceCaps collecting nine points (4G, 5A) and 21 penalty minutes. The Hamilton, ON native was named by the IceCaps as their Defenceman of the Year for 2013-14 after compiling 20 points (6G, 14A) and a +29 rating, which was the fifth best in the AHL, over 65 regular season games. He also played in his only NHL game last season with the Jets on Nov. 2/13 versus the Chicago Blackhawks.

Chiarot has collected 43 points (12G, 31A) and 221 penalty minutes in 169 AHL games with St. John's and the Chicago Wolves. He was originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the fourth round, 120th overall, in the 2009 NHL Draft.
