Anaheim assigns goalie McKee to Lynx

Augusta, GA - The goaltending ranks were shuffled today for the Augusta Lynx as David McKee was assigned to the club by the Anaheim Ducks, while Nathan Marsters was recalled to the American Hockey League's Portland Pirates. A former Cornell Big Red netminder for three seasons, the 23-year-old McKee is an Irving, Texas native. Standing 6-1 and 180 lbs., McKee put together three solid seasons as Cornell's primary netminder, appearing in 102 games with a 1.73 GAA, .926 save percentage, and 18 shutouts. McKee posted a 65-24-13 record over that time, leading the Big Red within one game of the NCAA Frozen Four tournament in 2005-06.

Marsters was an ECHL All-Star as a rookie in 2004-05 with the Louisiana IceGators before heading to training camp with the Ducks last year and playing 37 games for Portland. He posted a 23-9-2 record for the Pirates last season with a .900 save percentage and 3.10 goals against average, winning his final eight games of the 2005-06 regular season. Last season, Marsters saw limited action in Augusta, appearing in four games with a 1-1-2 record, 3.83 GAA and .851 save percentage.

McKee has joined the team and will be in uniform for the club's second of two Teal and Black scrimmages today at 3 pm. The Lynx play a pair of pre-season games Saturday against Gwinnett and Sunday versus Columbia before kicking off the regular season Friday, October 20 against the Inferno and Saturday, October 21 versus the Gladiators. Both games face off at 7:35 pm, with radio coverage beginning with the Classic Stucco and Stone Pre-Game Show on NEWSTALKSPORTS 1630 one half-hour before puck drop.
