Wildcatters Deal Shields to Fresno

Beaumont, TX (October 12, 2006) Texas Wildcatters Vice-President of Hockey Operations and Head Coach Malcolm Cameron has announced that the team has traded forward Colin Shields to the Fresno Falcons for future and financial considerations. The Wildcatters are the ECHL affiliate of the AHL's Houston Aeros. Shields spent last season in the British Elite League with the Belfast Giants. In 31 games, he registered 14 goals and 33 assists for 47 points.

The Wildcatters are in Florida preparing to begin the season as they will play the Everblades in two pre-season games on Friday and Saturday night before opening the regular season next Friday against the Everblades.

The new-look Wildcatters open their third season on October 20 at Florida, before returning to Ford Arena for their home opener on Saturday, October 28 against the Pensacola Ice Pilots at 7:05pm.
