ECHL officials to host Q&A session Saturday

Published on October 12, 2006 under ECHL (ECHL) News Release

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - It's a new season with new rules and we know Bakersfield Condors fans have questions. They'll have a perfect chance to get those questions answered, as a special Q and A session with ECHL officials will take place Saturday before the Condors take-on the Long Beach Ice Dogs in their preseason finale.

The Q and A session will run from 6:15 p.m. up until game-time (7 p.m.) inside the Club Room, which is located at Section 116 of the Rabobank Arena. The following ECHL representatives will be participating: Vice President of Hockey Operations Rod Pasma, Director of Officiating Gord Broseker and Officiating Consultant Bryan Lewis.

During the session fans may ask questions about ECHL officiating on and off the ice, as well as the new on-ice rules procedures and interpretations.

"There have been a number of rule changes the last couple of years and this is an excellent opportunity for the fans to understand the officiating procedures from a league standpoint," Condors President Matthew Riley said. "We appreciate the ECHL officials taking the time out of their busy schedule this weekend to meet with our fans."

The ECHL is holding an on-ice officials training camp Friday through Sunday in Bakersfield. The camp will be supervised by Pasma and conducted by Broseker, who worked almost 30 years as a linesman in the National Hockey League, and Lewis, who was Director of Officiating and an on-ice official for the NHL.

The Condors open their 2006-07 regular season at Rabobank Arena Friday, Oct. 20 against the Stockton Thunder. For more information or to reserve season tickets, mini-plans and book group outings contact the Condors office at 324-PUCK (7825). Season ticket packages start as low as $30
