Amerks Sign Goaltender Sam Marotta to PTO

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has signed goaltender Sam Marotta to a professional tryout contract (PTO).

Marotta, 23, has appeared in four ECHL games this season with the Elmira Jackals, posting a record of 2-1-0-1 with a 2.45 goals-against average and a .919 save percentage. Prior to his professional career, the 6-foot-4, 200-pound native of Bridgewater, Massachusetts, played four seasons at Merrimack College, where he posted a record of 14-19-4 with a 2.39 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage.
