Amerks Recall Brayden Irwin from Elmira Jackals

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has recalled forward Brayden Irwin from the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL. In addition, the Amerks have released forward Akim Aliu from his professional tryout contract (PTO).

Irwin, 27, has recorded 14 points (6+8) and 10 penalty minutes in 10 games for Elmira this season, tying him for the ECHL lead in points. Last season, Irwin appeared in 45 games with the Amerks, recording 25 points (7+18) and 21 penalty minutes. Irwin also played in five AHL games for Utica and 21 ECHL games with Stockton and Greenville during the 2013-14 season. The 6-foot-5, 223-pound native of Toronto, Ontario, has played in 116 career AHL games with Toronto, Norfolk, Utica and Rochester, collecting 44 points (15+29) and 78 penalty minutes. In 106 career ECHL games with Reading, Florida, Stockton, Greenville and Elmira, Irwin has tallied 100 points (48+52) and 106 penalty minutes. Irwin also played in two NHL games with the Toronto Maple Leafs during the 2009-10 season.
