November 26, 2013 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rochester Americans News Release
(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans Food Drive to benefit Foodlink, the regional food bank, will wrap up on Wednesday, Nov. 27 when the Amerks host the Hamilton Bulldogs at 7:05 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena.
Fans are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items by dropping them off in collection bins in the lower atrium prior to Wednesday's game. The items will then be donated to Foodlink.
Any fan that donates two unopened, non-perishable food items in the Foodlink bins prior to the game will be able to purchase "Buy One-Get One Free" tickets for the game. In addition, fans that donate can enter into a special Turkey Bowling raffle. During the second intermission, a Thanksgiving "turkey" will be rolled on the ice toward a set of giant bowling pins. If the turkey gets a strike, all fans who signed up for the raffle will win two free tickets to an upcoming Amerks game. One grand prize winner will receive a gift card from The Distillery and a game-used autographed goalie stick.
Wednesday's game will also feature a special Wednesday Pregame Happy Hour from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Upper Atrium Bar. Fans ages 21 and older can enjoy $2 Molson and Coors Light Drafts, while Jim Lane will provide live music.
About Foodlink: Foodlink, the regional food bank, provides food, nutrition, education and resources in Western and Central New York. As a member of Feeding America, Foodlink rescues and redistributes over 13 million pounds of food to 450 human service agencies. While the distribution of food to reduce hunger remains the foundation of Foodlink's activities, the vision is more holistic: to end hunger, build self-sufficiency, and foster nutritional wellness.
