Friday, Nov. 22: Binghamton 6, Adirondack 2

Binghamton traveled to Glens Falls this past Friday to take on the Adirondack Phantoms for the fourth time this season handling their hosts 6-2. Goaltender Nathan Lawson turned in a 29 save performance to earn his eighth victory of the season while Jean-Gabriel Pageau pitched in two goals and an assist to lead the B-Sens to their seventh consecutive victory.

Corey Cowick got things rolling for Binghamton 10:24 into the opening period knocking home a rebound off Fredrick Claesson's slap shot from the point. Cole Schneider doubled the Sens lead receiving a beautiful feed from Mike Hoffman and beating Phantoms goaltender, Yan Danis, just 1:25 into the second period. Adirondack, however, battled back netting the next two tallies to tie the game at two apiece. Hoffman regained the lead for Binghamton at 16:25 of the second starting a string of four consecutive tallies that the Phantoms would not answer.

Andre Petersson, Hoffman and Schneider all finished with a goal and an assist while rookie defenseman Cody Ceci chipped in two helpers from the blue line. Lawson improved to 8-1-0 for the season with his fifth consecutive win while Danis stopped 25 of 31 shots faced in the losing effort.

Saturday, Nov. 23: Binghamton 2, Hershey 5

PP: Binghamton 0 for 4, Hershey 1 for 5

The B-Sens stumbled on the road Saturday falling 5-2 to their hosts the Hershey Bears. The Bears road a three goal explosion within a 97 second span and a solid 29 save performance from goaltender Philipp Grubauer to end the Senators seven-game win streak.

Matt Puempel tallied his fifth goal of the year at 17:30 of the middle frame before Mark Stone drew Binghamton within one goal at 5:52 of the third period, but penalties plagued the Sens chance at making the comeback. Hershey added a goal by Brandon Segal at 11:13 of the third before the Bears power-play unit put the game out of reach with Julien Brouillette's tally with 3:11 remaining.

Stone and Puempel both finished with a goal and an assist for Binghamton who lost for the first time since dropping a 3-1 decision in Adirondack on November 1.

Nathan Lawson moved to 8-2-0 for the year stopping 35 of 40 shots in a losing effort.

Sunday, Nov. 24: Binghamton 5, Hershey 1

PP: Binghamton 1 for 3, Hershey 0 for 5

Binghamton rebounded in a big way following Saturday night's loss by defeating the Bears soundly 5-1 to complete their three-game road trip. Andrew Hammond played impressive all night stopping 34 of 35 shots faced to earn his fourth consecutive decision between the pipes.

Shane Prince notched his fourth goal of the season at 9:47 of the first to open up the scoring for Binghamton on their first power-play chance of the evening off great passes from Mike Hoffman and Stephane Da Costa. The B-Sens carried that 1-0 lead until Patrick Wey scored his first marker of the year at 10:16 of the second period tying the game 1-1.

Despite being held to only nine shots on goal in the final period, Binghamton exploded with four third period goals on their way to a 5-1 win. Da Costa started the surge at 6:06 of the period putting home a great cross-crease pass from defenseman Chris Wideman. Mark Stone added his fourth goal of the season at 15:49 before Andre Petersson added an empty-netter with under a minute to play putting the game away. Matt Puempel beat Philipp Grubauer with under 10 seconds remaining adding the back-breaker.

Hammond turned in half of his 34 saves in the final 20 minutes of play cementing Binghamton's win. Da Costa finished with a goal and two assists while Hoffman chipped in three helpers to lead the B-Sens offensively.

Record: 13-5-0-0 (26 points)

Standings: Binghamton remains tied with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins for first place in the East Division. Norfolk sits in third with a 9-6-0-4 record good for 22 points while the Crunch are right behind in fourth place with 20 points through 17 games played. Hershey rounds out the division with a 6-6-2-2 record and 16 points.

THIS WEEK...

Wednesday, November 27 vs. Syracuse Crunch (Tampa Bay Lightning)- 7:05 p.m.

Binghamton returns to home ice after its three game road trip to host East Division rival the Syracuse Crunch. This will be the fifth of 10 total meetings between the clubs this season with the B-Sens owning the series thus far winning three of the four games.

Syracuse is led offensively by rookie Nikita Kucherov who has posted 24 points (13 goals, 11 assists) through 17 games before being recalled by Tampa Bay this past Sunday. Goaltender Cedrick Desjardins has appeared in nine games for the Crunch sporting a 3-5-1 record with a 2.52 goals-against average and a 0.909 save percentage.

Friday, November 29 @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (Pittsburgh Penguins)- 7:05 p.m.

The B-Sens will be on the road Friday evening when they visit Mohegan Sun Arena for a 7:05 p.m. matchup versus the Penguins. This will be the second of eight total meetings between the division rivals. Binghamton won the first bout of the year in a shootout 4-3.

Center Brian Gibbons leads all Penguins skaters with seven goals and 15 assists through 15 games played. Goaltender Jeff Deslauriers has appeared in 15 contests for the Penguins holding a 10-3-2 record with a 2.34 goals-against average and a 0.900 save percentage.

Saturday, November 30 vs. St. John's IceCaps (Winnipeg Jets)-7:05 p.m.

Binghamton welcomes Atlantic Division foe the St. John's IceCaps to the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena on Saturday for the first of four eventual meetings during the season.

St. John's is led by center Eric O'Dell who has posted 20 points (10 goals, 10 assists) through 19 games played. Goaltender Eddie Pasquale has appeared in 16 contests for St. John's recording a 8-7-1 record with a 2.37 goals-against average and a 0.921 save percentage.

Promotions...

Tomorrow night the B-Sens will host the Syracuse Crunch for its Pre-Thanksgiving Day game presented by the Oakdale Mall. All fans in attendance will receive a Holiday Savings Coupon courtesy of the Mall.

Saturday is the Senators annual Hanukkah Night presented by the JCC. Saturday will also be our annual On Ice Autograph Session with the players. The first 3,500 fans through the gates will receive a FREE team poster they can have autographed postgame. CVS Pharmacy will have a table on the concourse with B-Sens memorabilia to raffle off. All proceeds raised directly go to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

SENS SNIPPETS...

Center Jim O'Brien returned to the lineup this past Sunday against Hershey for the first time since October 26. O'Brien chipped in an assist helping the B-Sens rebound from a Saturday night loss for a 5-1 victory over the Bears.

Forward Mark Stone has recorded eight points (4 goals, 4 assists) in eight contests since returning from injury on November 8. Stone missed nine games after injuring his shoulder in the B-Sens season opener versus the Syracuse Crunch on October 5.

Goaltender Andrew Hammond earned his fourth consecutive win in Sunday's 5-1 victory over the Hershey Bears. After a 1-3-0 start to the year, Hammond has picked up his play drastically and currently sits 5-3-0 for the season.

The B-Sens will be at Little Venice Restaurant Tuesday, December 3, for the annual Broome County Toys for Tots Spaghetti Dinner.
