
Americans Sneak Past Winterhawks in Close Shootout Win

Tri-City Americans News Release
The Tri-City Americans take the W in game 2 tonight against the Portland Winterhawks after a shootout.
The boys started off hot. Parker Aucoin scored the first goal at 1:24 in the first with the help of Krystof Hrabik.
The Americans scored once again in the first at 7:39. Paycen Bjorklund and Sasha Mutala assisted Connor Bouchard with the second goal of the night.
Winterhawk, Cody Glass, played his first game back in the WHL tonight after time with the NHL Vegas Golden Knights.
Both teams were tied by the second period. Reece Newkirk scored a power play goal in the second at 1:10.
The Americans trailed behind 2-3 after Reece Newkirk scored again at 7:35.
Nolan Yaremko tied things up with the help of Isaac Johnson and Parker Aucoin in the second at 10:48.
Winterhawks Joachim Blichfeld and Lane Gilliss goals put the Winterhawks up 5-3 in the third.
Krystof Hrabik puts the team back on the board by scoring the fist power play goal of the season. Assisted by Isaac Johnson and Samuel Stewart in the third period at 10:16.
Riley Sawchuk ties things up 5-5 at 11:03 taking the team into overtime.
Hrabik received a tripping penalty 1:56 into overtime. Brown followed with another tripping penalty :53 later. Beck Warm stood strong through 1:07 of 5-on-3 helping the Americans kill off both penalties.
The team headed to a shootout after a scoreless 5 minutes.
Olson and Yaremko netted goals for the Tri-City, while Glass was the only Portland skater to find the net for Portland in the shootout.
The Winterhawks out shot the Americans 28-25.
