
Lethbridge too Much for Pats

Regina, Saskatchewan - The Regina Pats fell 8-4 at the hands of the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Friday night at the Brandt Centre.
Lethbridge scored the game's first three goals before Robbie Holmes tapped in his first of the season on the powerplay and it was 3-1 after 20 minutes. The Hurricanes scored four more to start the second and extended the lead to 7-1. Regina got two back late, the first a shorthanded goal from Sergei Alkhimov, his first in the WHL and then Jake Leschyshyn picked up his first of the year on the powerplay and it was 7-3 after 40 minutes. Dylan Cozens completed his hat-trick for Lethbridge in the third to make it 8-3. Logan Nijhoff got one back late for the Pats on the powerplay, his first, to make it an 8-4 game and that was the final score.
The Pats powerplay was three for five and the penalty kill six for nine. Jake Leschyshyn, Sergei Alkhimov, Nick Henry and Aaron Hyman led the offence with two points each, while Max Paddock and Dean McNabb combined to make 34 saves.
The Pats (0-3-0-0) are back in action on Sunday at home to the Moose Jaw Warriors at 4 p.m. at the Brandt Centre.
