Royals Complete Trade with Rockets

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Royals today announced that the club has received a conditional fourth round pick in the 2021 WHL Bantam Draft along with a conditional seventh round selection in 2019 from the Kelowna Rockets in exchange for the rights to overage forward Lane Zablocki (1998).

A native of Wetaskiwin, AB, Zablocki was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the third round, 79th overall, in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.

The 6-0, 182 lb forward was acquired by the Royals from the Lethbridge Hurricanes at the trade deadline last season. Zablocki recorded six points (1g-5a) in 25 regular season games with Victoria. He also contributed two goals and an assist in 10 playoff contests for the club. In 65 regular season games, spilt between the Royals, Hurricanes and Red Deer Rebels last season, Zablocki registered 31 points (12g-19a).

The 1998-born forward was originally selected by the Prince George in the fifth round, 109th overall, at the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.
