Americans Return Home Tonight Vs Arizona
November 4, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Allen Americans News Release
Allen Texas- The Allen Americans of the Central Hockey League return to Allen Event Center tonight against the Arizona Sundogs at 7:05 pm, kicking off Military Weekend.
The Americans and Sundogs will meet for the first time this season tonight in Allen, marking the first game at the Event Center for the Americans in two weeks. Allen is 0-1 on home ice this season, with a 4-1 loss to Tulsa on opening night.
"I feel good on where we are right now," said Head Coach and GM Dwight Mullins during "Coaches Corner," his weekly radio show on KLAK. "We had some tough road games to start the season and we are happy to get back home in front of our fans."
The Americans picked up three of four points last weekend on the road at Texas and Wichita. Allen is 1-1-2 (4 points) so far in 2011-2012.
The Americans are led in scoring by Jason Deitsch, Bruce Graham and Keith Johnson early on this season, with five points each, in four games. Rejean Beauchemin has made every start in net for Allen so far, off to a 1-1-2 start with a 2.41 GAA.
Tonight's opponent, Arizona off to a 1-3-1 start, should be much improved this year with some key off-season additions. Daymen Rycroft comes over from Colorado and David Nimmo, who played last year in Allen. Both should add scoring punch to the Sundogs lineup. Kyle Hood leads the Sundogs in scoring with six points in five games.
The Allen Americans will be participating in the Military Appreciation Weekend on Friday November 4th and Saturday November 5th, when the Allen Americans take on the Arizona Sundogs. Puck Drop is 7:05 pm both nights. Tickets on sale at Allen Event Center box office, or by calling 972-912-1000. www.allenamericans.com.
