
Bucks Fall to Oilers

LAREDO, TX: The Laredo Bucks, of the Central Hockey League, lost to the Tulsa Oilers on Saturday night by a score of 6-1.
The Tulsa Oilers caught the Laredo Bucks off guard on Friday night when they scored two goals in the first two minutes of play. The Oilers first lit the lamp at the 1:26 mark with a goal from Jay Sprague. Then 28 seconds later, at 1:54, Mark Beausoleil would make the score 2-0 in favor of the Oilers. Ryan Raven would find the net again for the Oilers at 11:51, giving the Oilers a three goal lead. The Oilers outshot the Bucks 16-10 in the period.
The Oilers would start the second period with two additional goals, both scored by Mike Ullrich making the score 5-0. The Laredo Bucks finally got on the board at the 12:01 mark when Todd Griffith put it in the net, with help from Tyler Stitt and Neil Trimm. This would be the 9th point for Todd Griffith in 5 games and the 5th point for Neil Trimm in 3 games. At 12:48, Dylan Clarke would give the Oilers a 6-1 lead. However, at the end of the second period the Laredo Bucks outshot the Oilers 24-21.
During the third period, sparks flew between the two teams. First Matt Boyd fought Luke Lucyk at 14:39, and then a few moments later Justin Styffe and Dylan Clarke dropped the gloves at 14:40. Laredo Bucks would outshoot the Oilers 34-32 but lose the game to a final score of 6-1.
The Laredo Bucks will hold their 3rd Annual Job Fair presented by Staff Connection tomorrow from Noon-4pm at the LEA. Then the puck drops at 7:30pm, as the Laredo Bucks take on the Texas Brahmas.
