Americans Lose Preseason Game to Winterhawks, 2-1

EVERETT, WA - After taking a 4-3 shootout win over the Everett Silvertips last night, the Americans we're unable to hold off the Portland Winterhawks this morning at the Delta Hotels Preseason Classic.

Krystof Hrabik, Tri-City's first-round pick in the 2018 CHL Import Draft, made his debut on the team. Only 1:10 into the first-period he assisted a Paycen Bjorklund power play goal to give the Americans an early lead.

The Americans killed off six penalties before Delorme scored Portland's first goal of the game at even strength in the second period, assisted by Kolle. The game remained tied until Kolle scored the game winning goal for the Winterhawks at 13:28 in the third period, assisted by MacEachern, and Schwenninger.

Beck Warm played in net for the Americans and made a total 44 saves. His performance comes just hours after rookie goaltender Talyn Boyko posted 45 saves against the Silvertips.

The Americans were out shot 16-46 by the Winterhawks.
