
Americans Earn Preseason Shootout Win over Silvertips

EVERETT, WA - The Americans opened their preseason with a shootout win over the Everett Silvertips at the Delta Hotels Preseason Classic.
The match-up finished regulation in a 3-3 score, with all six goals scored on a man advantage. The Americans and Silvertips both ended the game 3/7 on the power play.

Everett took an early lead with a power play goal from Reece Virtelli at 2:11. The Americans immediately responded with a power play goal from Parker AuCoin at 3:20, assisted by Tom Cadieux and Isaac Johnson. Bryce Kindopp scored the Silvertips' second goal with a 5-on-3 man advantage after the Americans took sequential minor penalties. First period shots were led by Everett 6-19.
After 20 minutes.
Paycen Bjorklund tallied the only second period goal at 4:58, assisted by Isaac Johnsonon on the power play. Everett out shot the Americans 9-14. Bjorklund then kicked off the third period by assisting a Connor Bouchard power play goal and giving the Americans their first lead of the night.
At 10:43 Wylie Wyatt scored one last power play goal for the Silvertips. The tied game ended regulation with a total shot count of 22-46 led by Everett.

Parker AuCoin was awarded a penalty shot during overtime, but couldn't get pass Silvertips goaltender Dustin Wolf to end the game.
Rookie goaltender Talyn Boyko sealed the win for the Americans in a four-round shootout. He finished the game with 45 total saves.
