Allen Americans News Release

Allen, TX -- The Allen Americans defeated the Tulsa Oilers for the first time this season at the Allen Event Center, after a 3-2 win on Friday night.

The Americans came out flying on the opening shift, as Jarret Lukin nearly scored on a wrister that Ian Keserich batted away. Colton Yellow Horn, playing on a line tonight with Jarret Lukin and Ben Wilson, almost put it home on the rebound, which was a good sign of things to come for Yellow Horn on the night. Yellow Horn would notch his 18th of the season late in the first, to give Allen a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes of play, as Allen outshot Tulsa 11 to 5.

The Americans added to their lead in the second, as Jason Deitsch would score his 10th of the year on beautiful pass across the ice from Bruce Graham. Deitsch let a wrister go from the right side that beat Keserich to the blocker side of the net, and the Americans were on top 2-0. Colton Yellow Horn would add his second of the evening two and a half minutes later, to give Allen a 3-0 cushion after 40 minutes, as it appeared the Americans were on their way to an easy win.

Back came the Oilers in the third. First it was Michael Beausoleil on the power play, with a wrister that beat Rejean Beauchemin top shelf, to trim the lead to 3-1. One minute and fourteen seconds later, the Oilers cut the lead to a goal, after David Solway let one fly from the right wing boards with traffic in front of the net. Gerome Giudice deflected it past Beauchemin to make it a 3-2 Allen lead. The Oilers had their chances late in the third after pulling the goaltender, but the Americans and Rejean Beauchemin stood strong in a 3-2 win, that marked the first for the Americans over the Oilers at home this season.

The Allen Americans host Tulsa Saturday night at Allen Event Center, puck drop is at 7:05 PM.
