
Americans Fall to KC 4-1

Kansas City, Missouri - The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, dropped a 4-1 decision to the Kansas City Mavericks on Tuesday night at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena.
The game remained scoreless until the second period when Kansas City scored twice in just over three minutes of play. Jared VanWormer scored his first of the night, and 4th of the season at the 14:27 mark. CJ Eick added a shorthanded goal unassisted to give Kansas City a 2-0 lead after two periods of play.
The Mavericks added two more in the final period, including a power play goal from Matt Robertson. Spencer Asuchak scored with 11-seconds left in regulation to spoil the Mason McDonald shutout.
"It was a tough loss for us to swallow" said Americans forward Zach Pochiro. "We battled really hard for the first thirty minutes of the game. Kansas City took advantage of a few of our mistakes in the second period and it cost us.
