Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans dropped their first game in regulation this season, falling to the Tulsa Oilers by a score of 2-1 at Allen Event Center.
The Tulsa Oilers jump on the board first in the opening period, Brandon Coccimiglio with his second of the season from Kyle Bochek at the 12:01 mark. It would be the only goal of the period. The Oilers outshot Allen 10-9 after one.
Both teams scored in the second, Adam Pleskack with his second, forty seconds into the period to give the Oilers a 2-0 lead. Brandon Coccimiglio had the only assist on the goal. Allen cut the lead on the power play ten minutes later, when Kale Kerbashian fired a shot from the right face-off circle that found its way past Shane Madolora to make it a 2-1 game. This would be the only goal the Americans would score in the game.
Tulsa held on in the third, adding an empty-netter late and outshooting Allen by a 9-3 count, on their way to their first win of the season and handing Allen its first regulation loss, 3-1. Allen (7-1-1) is off until next Thursday, when they travel to Brampton to face the Beast. The Americans next home game is Friday, November 15th against Brampton.
